Writing a review or an analytical essay:
Jamal: This guy, Jamal grew up in the Indian slum. These places were filled with crime, bad house construction and hardcore gangs running around. But since Jamal and his brother Salim were living together in a neighborhood with a lot of families, the place became a slightly more peaceful part of the town compared to the other ones.
Salim: This is Jamal’s brother that is probably on the same age as him. Later in the movie, Salim and his brother Jamal find the girl they’ve been looking for. Her name is Latika. They quickly tries to take her away from this place were they kept her but then Salim actually experience a dramatic scene with a gun and shoots he’s very first person when they tries to escape the building.
While growing up with his family, Jamal quickly learned everything from Indian history to other cultures due to several things that happened to him. On the beginning of the movie, a criminal Hindu group were attacking the Muslim part of the village were he lived. Unfortunately, Jamal, Salim and his mother were there washing their cloths when they attacked them, something that made this poor guy Jamal and his bother Salim watching their own mother get murdered. This affected them very much and makes Jamal start think about the survival in India.
Now that Jamal and Salim lost their mother and their home, they had to run out in the world and try to make themselves a better life. They start off with small favors like showing tourists around at the Taj Mahal or guiding tourists around the local town. Then they move even longer with a train, trying to make their life better. That’s why they move over to Mumbay, in the search of a job.
This is the guy Jamal (the main character in the movie) who get a job at a local place were they sell products with phones. When a guy there who was working there asks Jamal if he can take over for him for some few minutes, Jamal quickly comes up with a great idea. He knew that this job had a search thing who you could use to find people’s address or phone number. After searching and finding his brother’s phone number. This is anther one of the places were Jamal gets a chance of learning more useful facts that he’ll use later in the film.
This personality that Jamal had is based on the book that Vikas Swarup did write. The book was called “Q & A” and is the novel that this movie is based on. The move itself is based on undying young love that truly makes this movie also like by a lot of girls. :P
